Six emerging acts from the West Midlands have been shortlisted for the prestigious Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent Award 2024.
A collaboration between the long-running festival and The Glee Club Birmingham, the Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent Award 2024 takes place at The Glee on Thursday 10 October 2024.

As rules have recently been loosened clubs have been starting to get up and running again with established indoor clubs slowly but surely reopening, albeit it under social distancing rules and substantially reduced capacity. A number of open air gigs have also been arranged.
Claire Broughton joins from Hat Trick, where she worked as a Development Producer on projects such as Episodes, The Armstrong and Miller Show and Spy. She produced the BBC Radio 4 series Before They Were Famous and God’s Work and was Associate Producer on Boomers for BBC One.
BBC Television has announced a raft of new comedy programmes today, underlining their commitment to comedy. Among the commissions are a BBC1 series for Tracey Ullman, an annual Ronnnie Barker comedy Lecture, a new Ben Miller series and a programme celebrating 25 years of Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse at the BBC.
There will also be more satire from Rory Bremner, while Morgana Robinson, currently appearing in House of Fools will have her own BBC pilot and Kerry Howard from Him & Her will front a series on BBC3.
