TV: Vic & Bob's Big Night Out, BBC2

First of all it is brilliant to see Vic and Bob back doing what they do best. Being complete and utter tits with a reimagining of the show where it all started, Big Night Out. This BBC version is said to be the show they wanted to make for C4 all those years ago. The trouble is that if they had made this show back then I'm not sure if I'd have been as seduced by them as I was.

Comedian Bob Mortimer has teamed up with Cats Protection to auction a one-off signed print to help the charity raise much-needed funds.
 
The A1 sized artwork will be sold on eBay, with the three-day auction kicking off at midday on Friday 24 November.

News: Vic Reeves Joins Celebrity Masterchef Line-Up

Jim Moir, alias comedian Vic Reeves, is to take part in the next series of BBC1's Celebrity MasterChef. 

Judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace will be returning to judge twenty celebrity contestants, comparing their culinary skills in their hunt to single out one champion.

Could the BBC's rebooted Big Night Out be more than just one reunion episode?

Beyond The Joke has heard that when the show was filmed last night at the Hospital Club in Covent Garden it was referred to as a "pilot" rather than a "one-off reunion". There has been speculation that if it all works out a series could follow.

News: Contestants Announced For Taskmaster Series 5

The five contestants have been announced for the fifth series of Taskmaster.

They are Nish Kumar, Sally Phillips, Bob Mortimer, Aisling Bea and Mark Watson. 

Meanwhile Noel Fielding has been crowned champion of Taskmaster Series 4, due in part to thwacking a Babybel a remarkable distance with a snooker cue.

The fifth series will air later this year on Dave, overseen as ever by Greg Davies and Alex Horne.

Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer's Big Night Out is to return for a one-off half-hour special.

The show originally aired on Channel 4. This time it will go out on BBC2. It was originally called Vic Reeves’ Big Night Out and will now be called Vic & Bob’s Big Night Out.

News: Vic & Bob Working On New TV Show

Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer are still working on their new sketch show, as reported by Beyond The Joke last year. "We are ready to go," says Mortimer, "but nobody wants to film it." 

The duo were talking to Dermot O'Leary on last night's Nightly Show in the run-up to Red Nose Day when they will be reviving their Geordie chat show hosts The Stotts for one night only.

News: All-Star Line-Up Announced For New Series Of Crackanory

The line-up has been announced for the fourth series of Dave's adult-storytelling show Crackanory. The new run, in partnership with Audible, will see one narrator per 30-minute episode reading an extended story. The names this time round are Sheridan Smith, Dara O Briain, Doc Brown, Anna Friel, Mackenzie Crook, Miriam Margolyes, Bob Mortimer and Mel Giedroyc. As before, each story will be brought to life with live action featuring some of Britain’s best comedy actors.
