Miriam Margolyes
Miriam Margolyes has announced her first Edinburgh Fringe run for 12 years, coming to the Pleasance Pentland Room at the EICC for 9 afternoons at 4pm from 7th – 15th August! Margolyes & Dickens: The Best Bits is a show a show packed full of passionate performances and infamously honest stories & life lessons from the national treasure.
Miriam Margolyes has caused controversy once again by using the "f word" live on BBc Radio 4 on Saturday morning's Today Programme.
Margolyes had been in the studio to pay tribute to Robbie Coltrane who she worked with when he played Hagrid. As the live interview ended she changed the subject after spotting the new Chnacellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt nearby.
TV watchdog Ofcom has received 241 complaints following Miriam Margolyes' appearance on The Last Leg on Friday, May 8.
Margolyes was interviewed via Zoom while in her kitchen during the first live show in the new series with the three regular presenters, Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker, speaking to her from their homes.
There seems to be a traffic jam of comedies featuring characters in vehicles at the moment. There is Peter Kay’s Car Share of course and then there is Bucket, in which Miriam Margolyes and Frog Stone play a mother and daughter attempting to reconnect on a road trip around the UK. What next, a remake of On The Buses?
The line-up has been announced for the fourth series of Dave's adult-storytelling show Crackanory. The new run, in partnership with Audible, will see one narrator per 30-minute episode reading an extended story. The names this time round are Sheridan Smith, Dara O Briain, Doc Brown, Anna Friel, Mackenzie Crook, Miriam Margolyes, Bob Mortimer and Mel Giedroyc. As before, each story will be brought to life with live action featuring some of Britain’s best comedy actors.
