Actor and comedian Dave Mounfield has died.

He was best known for his work with Count Arthur Strong. In the original Radio 4 series he played sidekick Geoffrey the Caretaker, Gerry the Cafe Owner and Jack the Barman. He also toured regularly with Strong.

Mounfield also played Mr Cooshay in the off kilter comedy This is Jinsy. As well as performing he was also a prolific writer and an enthusiastic fan of comedy.
