News: Dawn French To Make Panto Debut

Dawn French is to make her panto debut later this year.

She will play The Wicked Queen in the Palladium's production of Snow White.

The cast also features a number of other comedy performers who have previously appeared in Christmas pantomimes. 

Julian Clary will play the Man in the Mirror, while ventriloquist Paul Zerdin will play Muddles.

Nigel Havers will play The Understudy and Gary Wilmot will play Mrs Crumble the Cook.

The Mail's Baz Bamigboye revealed the casting on Twitter.

Dawn French is sixty today. 

To mark her birthday a portrait has been released taken by photographer Trevor Leighton, who has been photographing French (and Jennifer Saunders) since the early days of her career.

News: French & Saunders Reunite to Receive Slapstick Festival Award

Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders reunited last night at the Colston Hall in Bristol to receive Aardman Slapstick Comedy Legend Awards.

The event was the Bristol Slapstick Festival's fastest selling event. Also pictured are Mel Giedroyc and Dame June Whitfield, who paid tribute to the duo in person.

Messages of congratulations also came from, among others, Barry Cryer, Miranda Hart, Griff Rhys Jones, Matt Lucas and Ruby Wax.

News: Dawn French Brings Solo Show to London For Final Run

Dawn French is bringing her critically acclaimed show 30 Million Minutes back to London’s West End for the final time at the Vaudeville Theatre from 18th October for one week only. 

30 Million Minutes takes the audience on a journey through various delights and riches, with the odd irksome tribulation thrown in, as Dawn speaks about the lessons life has taught her, and the things she knows to be true.

News: London Run for Dawn French

London dates have been anounced for Dawn French's solo show, 30 Million Minutes. It will be at the Vaudeville Theatre from 11th November. The award-winning actor, best-selling novelist and all round very funny lady has written the show herself, basing it on her life and career.

The critically acclaimed 30 Million Minutes consists of various delights and riches, with the odd irksome tribulation thrown in, as Dawn takes audiences through the various lessons life has taught her, and the things she knows for sure.
