Kicking off on 5th September at Leek’s Foxlowe Arts Centre, Dyer will then take in a further 15 dates before concluding the tour at Phoenix Arts Centre in Exeter on 30th November.
Comedian Harriet Dyer has won Channel 4's annual Sean Lock Award in a hotly contested night of comedy in Leeds.
The Award was launched last year to showcase talented new writers and performers who embodied the alternative comedic spirit of Sean and Channel 4. Eric Rushton was the first winner.
Dyer – not to be confused with her namesake who stars in the Australian comedy Colin From Accounts – wins a cash prize as well as mentoring and support from Channel 4 so that she can develop her work.
Part of the fun of watching new sitcoms is picking out the DNA in them. Mr Bigstuff tries to be distinctive – and is in places – but also seems to be influenced by shows ranging from This Country to Gavin & Stacey to Brassic (which co-star and writer Ryan Sampson has appeared in). It's about working class families and relationships and is very much not set in London.
