Edinburgh Comedy Awards
The Laughing Horse’s Free Edinburgh Fringe Festival has launched it’s programme for the 2021 Edinburgh Fringe, returning to Edinburgh after last year’s cancelled festival, with shows planned in venues and online from August 6th to 30th.
Dave’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards winner Jordan Brookes and other acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe shows are to play a three night gala run in London’s West End.
The winners of this year's Edinburgh comedy Award sponsored by Dave have been announced at a ceremony at the dovecote Studios in Edinburgh.
And the winner of Best Newcomer 2019 is Catherine Cohen.
The winner of the Panel Prize is Jessica Brough who is behind The Fringe Of Colour, which supports performers and audiences of colour.

The judging panel has been announced for the 2018 Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
Nica Burns, Director of the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, revealed the judging panel for the 2018 Awards, now in its 38th year. The panel consists of seven professionals and three comedy punters representing the public. This year the panel will be chaired by Stephen Armstrong – Comedy Critic, Sunday Times. The other panellists are:
● Gayle Anderson – Arts Writer and Herald Comedy Critic
● Jane Dempsey - Public Panellist

Comedy fans have the chance here to join the judging panel, deciding both the most outstanding original comedy act and the best newcomer comedy act at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The winners and the nominees go on to showcase their work at the Edinburgh Comedy Award Shows in London’s West End at the Lyric Theatre.
The lastminute.com Edinburgh Comedy Award shortlist will be announced at lunchtime today. In previous years I’ve had a go at predicting the nominations. In some years I’ve been pretty close and in one year my list was mistaken for the real thing, but let’s not go there…
The Edinburgh Comedy Awards panel for 2016 has been announced.
The Awards, produced by Nica Burns (pictured) are sponsored by lastminute.com for the first time this year.
There will, as is traditional, be three Awards, which are:
- Best Comedy Show with a cash prize of £10,000
- Best Newcomer with a cash prize of £5,000
- Panel Prize with a cash prize of £5,000
Over 600 shows will be judged.
