American actor Fred Willard has died. He was 86.

Willard’s agent confirmed his death to Rolling Stone, adding that the cause of death was natural causes.

The actor was best known to comedy fans for his regular appearances in films by Christopher Guest such as This Is Spinal Tap, Waiting For Guffman, A Mighty Wind and Best in Show as well as the TV series Modern Family.
