Goodies
In 2019, The Goodies reunited to record a brand-new adventure for Audible, under the guidance of producer Barnaby Eaton-Jones – who gently persuaded them to get back on their trandem bicycle.
This was called The Big Ben Theory, and was written by Gareth Gwynn and John-Luke Roberts, from a story by Barnaby Eaton-Jones, and directed by Dirk Maggs. It is still available online.
The results of a poll to choose the all-time favourite episode of classic comedy The Goodies has been revealed.
The poll was carried out as part of the annual Slapstick Festival in Bristol
Bristol’s Slapstick festival (AKA the UK’s biggest celebration of silent and classic screen comedy) will be launching an online poll on Monday 25 November to find the public’s all-time favourite of the 77 television shows made by THE GOODIES between 1970 and 1982?
Actor Paul McGann, broadcasters Samira Ahmed and comedians Shappi Khorsandi and Lucy Porter are among the latest celebrities to join the guest list for Bristol’s annual celebration of silent screen and classic comedy - SLAPSTICK – as the festival adds another 16 events to its January 23 to 26 programme.
The Goodies are to reunite for a special one-off event.
The legendary trio of Graeme Garden, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Bill Oddie will be appearing onstage for the first time in over 10 years for a unique evening to talk about their career and the enduring popularity of their TV series which aired from 1970 through to 1982.
BBC Store, the digital download-to-own service, has released some rarely seen and previously unavailable-to-buy episodes of classic comedy series The Goodies starring Tim Brooke-Taylor, Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie.
