It's a busy time for Greg Davies. He has just appeared on our screens in the BBC sitcom The Cleaner and he is soon to return in C4's Taskmaster. Not not only that but he is the host of the new rebooted Never Mind The Buzzcocks coming to Sky Max from Tuesday, September 21 at 9pm.
The five candidates for the latest series of Taskmaster are comedian, writer, and actor Alan Davies (QI, BBC Two); comedian, writer and actor Desiree Burch (Live At The Apollo, BBC One); BAFTA nominated comedian Guz Khan (Man Like Mobeen, BBC Three); BAFTA winning impressionist and actor Morgana Robinson (The Morgana Show, Channel 4); writer, presenter and professional poker player Victoria Coren Mitchell (Only Connect,
BBC One has confirmed the cast for brand new Greg Davies comedy series, The Cleaner, due to air in 2021.
Greg Davies is making a new comedy, Safe Space, for Sky One. The Taskmaster host has written and created it and will star in it as a demotivated small-time psychotherapist heading nowhere fast until fate intervenes in the form of a new client; his rising star local MP. A dark web of revelations leads to a serious breach of client confidentially in this tale of control, power and how idiotic it makes us.
BBC One today confirms The Cleaner, a new comedy series from Studio Hamburg UK, part of Studio Hamburg Production Group, written by and starring Greg Davies.
Paul ‘Wicky’ Wickstead (played by Greg Davies), is a state-certified cleaning technician with a very special field of work: as a crime scene cleaner he is responsible for the removal of any signs of death.
Greg Davies is the co-writer of a new comedy for Sky One and NOW TV.
In Safe Space the famously tall Taskmaster host plays a demotivated small-time psychotherapist heading nowhere fast until fate intervenes in the form of a new client; his rising star local MP. A dark web of revelations leads to a serious breach of client confidentially in this tale of control, power and how idiotic it makes us.
Safe Space is co-written by Greg Davies & Stephen Morrison.
Comedian, actor and former English teacher Greg Davies is to present a BBC four documentary entitled Kes: A Boy's Life. It will air on BBC Four on 19 November at 9pm.
Davies is a lifelong fan of Barry Hines' classic novel A Kestrel for a Knave, the story of Billy Casper training a kestrel as an escape from his troubled home and school life, which was famously made into the film Kes by Ken Loach.
Christmas is clearly not far away now. Knebworth House, near Stevenage, is holding a winter festival next weekend where you can shop until you drop, and then eat, drink or join in with a singalng screening of The Greatest Showman.
Comedy fans, however, can get their fix with an excellent mini-festival over two nights. There are early evening shows from Mark Steel (Friday) and The Improv All Stars (Saturday) and then two really top-rate mixed bills to finish off each evening in style.
Comedian Greg Davies is to host The Royal Variety Performance in the presence of members of the Royal family.
How would you describe this series?
It’s a really great series. I think the tasks are as fresh as ever, and I think it’s funny. Sometimes the teams just gel. I won’t highlight which series, but we’ve had a couple where the gang has just made sense together. This one is just a wonderful mix of people and personalities that complement each other. It’s a delicate balance between being competitive but recognising the ‘gang show’ nature of this show.
