News: Gavin And Stacey Christmas Special Tops Christmas Day Ratings

The Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special has topped the Christmas Day viewing figures.

Early overnight figures show suggest that the special has already been watched by a record 11.6 million viewers and further catch-up numbers are still to be added.

The first new edition of the hit series in ten years aired in the primetime 8.30pm slot and bagged 49.2% of all TV viewers.

As James Corden takes a break from full time hosting duties this year due to work commitments, new names have been announced for Sky One’s BAFTA-winning A League of Their Own.

Corden will host two episodes of the series. Other hosts include Jack Whitehall; presenter, Clare Balding; David Walliams; Amanda Holden; British sprinter, Dina Asher Smith and the show’s very own Romesh Ranganathan.

James Corden has apologised for any offence caused by his jokes about Harvey Weinstein told at an event in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

On Sunday afternoon (USA time) he tweeted: "To be clear, sexual assault is no laughing matter. I was not trying to make light of Harvey’s inexcusable behavior, but to shame him, the abuser, not his victims. I am truly sorry for anyone offended, that was never my intention."

James Corden had a mixed response when he made jokes about Harvey Weinstein last night onstage at the AmfAR Gala Los Angeles Friday night in Beverly Hills.

The talk show host quipped: “This is a beautiful room, it’s a beautiful night here in L.A. It’s so beautiful, Harvey Weinstein has already asked tonight up to his hotel to give him a massage.”

Reports suggest that there was "nervous laughter" in the room as he continued.
