News: Jason Manford & David Walliams Try Out New Game Show

Jason Manford and David Walliams are to be the two opposing captains in a new television panel game being tried out onstage next month.

In Is This Your Life?, being developed for ITV1, teams will be challenged to reveal their knowledge of mystery guests on the show, which will be hosted by Sara Cox.

News: Jason Manford Joins Absolute Radio

Jason Manford is joining Absolute Radio. He will be presenting the breakfast show on Sunday mornings from 8am - 11am from January 10, 2016.

This is not the first time Manford has worked on the radio. He did a two-year stint at XFM Manchester as breakfast host and also covered for Danny Baker on Radio 2.

News: John Bishop Goes Ape

John Bishop has been talking about filming in Rwanda for the ITV special John Bishop’s Gorilla Adventure, in which he encounters one of the most endangered animals on the planet. 

Bishop spoke about the programme on The One Show on Thursday night and said getting close to the gorillas was one of the most moving experiences of his life. He also noticed that adolescent male Mountain Gorillas are just like his teenage sons – bulging muscles but no sense. Plus they fart, flirt and pick their noses.

Jason Manford has become embroiled in a controversy following his heartfelt, expletive-packed Facebook post condemning the attackers in Paris as cowards for killing innocent people just out enjoying themselves.

He went on to say: "For what? In whose name? Are you doing this in the name of your god? Cos I've got news for you, if you think your 'god' is gonna reward you for this type of atrocity then your god is a massive cunt."

News: Chitty Role For Jason Manford

Jason Manford is returning to the stage to star as Caractacus Potts* in the touring musical production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. This is the lead role made famous by Dick Van Dyke in the 1968 movie. Michael Ball played him in the stage production in 2002.

Manford has only recently finished appearing in a touring production of The Producers and previously appeared onstage in Sweeney Todd.

News: Manford, Boyle and More Play Rugby Fest

Jason Manford, Frankie Boyle and Ardal O’Hanlon are three of the high-profile names confirmed to do shows at the official Fanzone during the Rugby World Cup 2015. 

The gigs will take place in Richmond's Old Deer Park during the September/October Tournament as part of The Big Hullabaloo, a series of ticketed events on non rugby screening days. Other performers will be announced in the next few weeks. The shows and dates are:

Latitude Review: Jason Manford

Comedians are such a sensitive bunch. How do you describe someone as a safe pair of hands without them taking it as a negative criticism? A safe pair of hands is exactly what Jason Manford is, but this is meant as the highest of compliments. After three days when some comedians had died horrible sweaty deaths onstage and others had pushed the boundaries of their craft and divided audiences Manford closed the comedy arena with an assured set that pretty much entertained everyone.

News: Frog & Bucket Plaque Unveiled

A commemorative blue plaque has been unveiled on the wall outside the Frog and Bucket Comedy Club in Manchester. The plaque is dedicated to the “memory of all the comedians who died onstage” during the club’s 21 years. Owner Dave Perkin is pictured with the plaque.

Luminaries who have cut their teeth in the Oldham Street venue include Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas, Lee Mack, Jason Manford, Dave Gorman, Chris Addison, Lucy Porter, Jack Whitehall and Ross Noble. 

News: Manchester Club Marks Birthday with Special Plaque

Legendary Manchester comedy club the Frog and Bucket is to mark its 21st birthday in May with the unveiling of a blue plaque to commemorate acts that have 'died' on its stage.

Luminaries who have cut their teeth there include Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas, Lee Mack, Jason Manford, Dave Gorman, Chris Addison, Lucy Porter, Jack Whitehall and Ross Noble.

News: Latitude Comedy Names Revealed

Jason Manford and Alan Davies have been announced as two of the main acts at this year’s 10th birthday Latitude Festival, which takes place at Henham Park in Suffolk from July 16 - 19.

The full music and arts line-up is announced tomorrow but some of the comedy names have been revealed today.
