Johnny Vegas
Following on from 2019’s hugely popular Dial M for Middlesbrough, the next instalment of Gold’s hit UKTV Original comedy murder mystery franchise returns this Spring. Three-parter Murder, They Hope will see three times as many comedy capers as Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson reprise their roles as Terry and Gemma alongside a whole host of comedy stars including Sarah Hadland (Miranda) as Monica, Gemma’s spotlight stealing sister.
Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson are set to return to Gold in another murder-mystery scripted comedy franchise written by Jason Cook. The brand-new three-part series Murder They Hope follows on from last year’s hit feature Dial M for Middlesbrough. Sian Gibson and Johnny Vegas will reprise their roles as Gemma and Terry, in a trilogy of new adventures.
Taskmaster moves from Dave to C4 for its latest outing. The format remains the same, with Greg Davies and Alex Horne setting comedians a succession of bizarre challenges.
This year's line-up is Daisy May Cooper, Johnny Vegas, Katherine Parkinson, Mawaan Rizwan and Richard Herring.
Below Johnny Vegas discusses taking part in the show, which is now on its tenth series (with the eleventh already filmed).
Taskmaster starts 9pm tonight (Thursday 15th October) on Channel 4. Catch series 1-9 on All 4
Johnny Vegas and Paralympic champion Jonnie Peacock are to pair up for a look through the archives of the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Paralympic Games in a nostalgic ninety-minute special.
They will be joined for the show by the presenting team from the Last Leg, Alex Brooker, Adam Hills and Josh Widdicombe – their show started out by covering the Paralympics in 2012.
Comic legend Johnny Vegas makes a return to live comedy at this Saturday's online Working From Home show put on by the Just The Tonic Comedy Club.
Gavin and Stacey star Mathew Horne will also be appearing in the guise of ‘Paul Human; Patron to the Arts’. Long before he was a sitcom star Horne was a regular live performer as part of the double act Matt and Mackinnon. He also briefly performed live in sketches with James Corden.
Comic legend Johnny Vegas is to play a series of live shows.
Comedy film Dial M for Middlesbrough, written by Jason Cook, is the third instalment in the "Murder..." series featuring Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson. Joining the cast of the latest feature film are Jason Donovan, Sally Lindsay, Joanna Page, Ambreen Razia, John Macmillan, Annette Crosbie, Phil Davis, Mike Wozniak, Selina Griffiths and Jason Forbes.
It was pretty brave of Gold to schedule this one-off film on primetime on a Saturday night in the run-up to Christmas. But then the channel had reason to be ambitious. Their previous all-star Agatha Christie spoof starring Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson, Murder on the Blackpool Express, was the highest-ever rating show on Gold. They will be hoping for the same here. And they might just get it.
The transmission date has been confirmed for the all-star comedy Death On The Tyne.
The one-off murder mystery, written by Jason Cook (who also appears in it) will premiere on Saturday 15th December at 9.20pm on Christmas Gold*
Following the success of one-off comedy drama Murder on the Blackpool Express in 2017, Gold is bringing back Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson’s much-loved characters Terry and Gemma in Death on the Tyne. The pair will reunite with a whole host of comedy greats as they embark on a brand-new murder mystery caper.
