The world of comedy has been a great entry point for writing about the human condition, from John Osborne's The Entertainer through to Trevor Griffiths' Comedians to Terry Johnson's Dead Funny and beyond. We can now add Danny Robins' End Of The Pier to the list of painful plays about stand-up.
Les Dennis is to star in a new play in which a former comedy presenter and national treasure is thrust back into the limelight at the centre of a media frenzy.
End of the Pier, written by Danny Robins, will get its world premiere at the Park Theatre in north London, where it opens the new season. It will run from 11 July - 11 August.
