Mash
Late Night Mash did not make a big deal about Rachel Parris taking over from Nish Kumar as host in the new series. There was a lovely gag about comparing Parris to Liz Truss and taking another job from an Asian man, but apart from that it was business as usual for the satirical show that might have moved from BBC to Dave but will not die.
And thus, like a monster they couldn't kill – Monster Mash, if you like – it has risen from the dead. After the BBC decided not to recommission the satirical show fronted by Nish Kumar, Dave snapped it up. Numerous jokes were made about this in the first episode. It was wryly noted that hit Dave show Taskmaster going to Channel 4 which was seen as a promotion, so what did that make this going to Dave from BBC Two?
UKTV has announced a new comedy series, Late Night Mash, will air on Dave later this year, hosted by Nish Kumar.
A return date has been confirmed for the third series of The Mash Report.
Returning team members Rachel Parris and Ellie Taylor have tweeted that the new series will start on BBC2 on October 26.
Nish Kumar (pictured) will once again be fronting the show. The full line-up has not been officially announced but Freya Parker, of sketch duo Lazy Susan, will also be one of the contributors.
The Mash Report is an up to the minute, satirical news show working with comedy website The Daily Mash.
