The Best Newcomer nominees have been announced at this year's Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

They are Paul Williams, Stephanie Tisdell, Garry Starr, Danielle Walker, Lewis Garnham and Nadia Collins.

This follows the announcement of the Barry Award nominees earlier this week. They are Natalie Palamides, Helen Bidou (Anne Edmonds), Tim Key, Celia Pacquola, Lano & Woodley, Alex Edelman, Sam Campbell and Rose Matafeo.
