Acclaimed sitcom set in Ireland The Young Offenders is to get its own seasonal special this Christmas.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Mairéad (Hilary Rose), Sgt. Healy (Dominic MacHale) and Conor (Alex Murphy) are preparing for the imminent new arrival, with Conor wanting only the best for his mother.
Conor is still a novice at domestic housework, including washing, so Mairéad decides to give him lessons, clearing out his wash basket thoroughly – only to discover a handgun in the basket.
Set in Cork, Ireland and created by Peter Foott, The Young Offenders tells the adventures of loveable rogues Conor (Alex Murphy) and Jock (Chris Walley) and their mother/guardian Mairead (Hilary Rose) as she tried to keep them on the straight and narrow.
Time has passed and everyone must navigate how relationships change with hilarious and heartwarming results after Conor and Jock find themselves on the wrong side of the law again.
The Young Offenders is available from Friday 10 May on BBC One and iPlayer.

The BBC in association with RTÉ have recommissioned hit comedy The Young Offenders from producers Vico Films. This series follows on from the hugely successful TV series, the 2018 Christmas special which aired for the first time on BBC One and the box office smash feature film from 2016.
