Editor's note: Journalist Nosheen Iqbal wrote an opinion piece in the Guardian headlined "Daniel Kitson can’t reclaim a racist word he’s never been the target of." The piece prompted considerable debate on social media among other comedians. Here stand-up Paul Sinha expands upon his issues with the article.
As we’ve explained previously comedian Luke Toulson took the problem of getting preview slots by the scruff of the neck and set up his own comedy night on Wednesdays at Crack Comedy. He has been previewing his own show and has also had some fantastic guests previewing theirs. This week is no exception as Paul Sinha is in the house. Sinha is very much a man of many parts.
Paul Sinha is one of our finest purveyors of smart stand-up comedy. Armchair quiz fans may well know him as the trivia king from The Chase, but Sinha still gigs regularly. His latest show, Postcards from the Z List, is at Soho Theatre from Feb 15 - 20, tickets here.

Sometimes it feels as if the Beyond The Joke preview section is an in-house website for the Soho Theatre, which tends to hoover up the best shows in London. This week, however, there is an opportunity to focus on another formidable London venue. The Leicester Square Theatre has two strong shows this week, kicking off with hard-hitting Swede Magnus Betner, who is there for three nights from tonight.
The London comedy circuit is slowly but surely gearing up for a big autumn with two major events at either end of this week. Tonight The Comedy Store hosts Laugh Til It Hurts, a benefit in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The gig could be subtitled Paul The Other Ones, as it seems to have gathered together most of the Pauls on the comedy circuit apart from Comedy Store regular Paul Merton.
