Phil Jerrod
A host of star comedians such as Romesh Ranganathan, Angela Barnes and Tom Allen will be performing at the Brighton Dome - in memory of their friend, comedian Phil Jerrod, who sadly passed away last year.
The show will take place on Sepember 18 and will also feature Carl Donnelly, Joe Foster, Kerry Godliman, Mark Steel, Michael Fabbri and Seann Walsh.
The gig is in aid of Sarcoma UK. Phil Jerrod died of cancer last September.
Management company Off The Kerb has issued the following statement.
It is with deep sadness we have to announce the death of Phil Jerrod. Phil peacefully passed away at home after a battle with cancer, with his devoted wife Beck by his side.
Phil’s critically acclaimed stand-up and comedy writing meant he was incredibly respected by his peers, supporting and writing with many of his comedy heroes.
At a time when I regularly hear about comedy clubs struggling to survive it was good this week to hear about two new clubs opening. There’s a big new swanky joint in Glasgow and down south in London Pizza Express Live, just round the corner from Holborn station, is putting on stand-up on Monday nights and is a very welcome – and comfy – addition to the live circuit.
This interview has just come in and I wanted to get it up straight away as the mighty Phil Jerrod is at the Soho Theatre tonight (Wednesday) at 9.30pm. Get your skates on. Well, read this first then get your skates on. Tickets and info here.
