Richard Herring is to host Streaming site Nextup's next ‘Thank You Gala’ on the 6th June 2020.
NextUp, the digital comedy club streaming incredible unseen sets from the best of comedy’s rising stars, has announced the gala evening to round off their JustGiving campaign. The event will be hosted by Richard Herring, and comedians including Adam Buxton, Mark Watson, Kiri Pritchard McClean, Tom Rosenthal and Yuriko Kotani have been confirmed at the time of going to press.
The Graham Norton Show returned on Friday night, but this was the Coronavirus version. The guests were onscreen at home and there was no studio audience. No studio in fact. Norton conjured one up through the magic of television. But apart from that there wasn't much magic on display.
Following fundraising releases of shows by Mark Thomas and Rachel Fairburn, indie comedy label Go Faster Stripe is now raising money for the Trussell Trust charity through Richard Herring's show We're All Going To Die!
When fans download the show they can donate whatever they want to the charity, which supports food banks around the UK.
So far, 2512 people have donated £17905.22. This deal will run until April 9.
Well, they do say timing is everything in comedy. At the end of Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast interview with Charlie Brooker Herring asked the Black Mirror writer what he was up to next and Brooker revealed that he was working on a New Year Philomena Cunk special. I got all excited and thought I had a scoop and ran a story announcing this, only to be told that the interview took place in November 2019 and the New Year special referred to had already aired...
Richard Herring's acclaimed Leicester Square Theatre Podcast has been getting out and about recently, interviewing stars all over the country. Recent scoops have included Michael Sheen, Russell Howard and Caroline Quentin and he has just released his interview with Vic Reeves, recorded in Canterbury this summer.
The Manchester Podcast Festival has announced the line-up for its second year, bringing together some of the UK’s most popular podcasts. The festival will begin with Help! I Sexted My Boss at The Dancehouse Theatre on 1st November 2019, and will see live dates across a host of venues in the city throughout the month, concluding on 27th November 2019.

Streaming service NextUp have announced that from the 24th June 2019 they will be doubling their output; releasing two shows per week (on a Wednesday and a Friday) instead of one.
Vic Reeves is among the upcoming names to be interviewed by Richard Herring for his Leicester Square Theatre Podcast over the next few months.
The podcast will be going on tour again with shows in London and also at the Edinburgh Fringe in August and around the country. Vic Reeves is to be interviewed by Herring at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury on July 17.
