Samson Kayo
Filming has begun on new Sky original Bloods. Starring BAFTA nominated Samson Kayo (Famalam, Truthseekers) and Golden Globe nominated Jane Horrocks (Absolutely Fabulous, Little Voice), the series follows a pair of seemingly mismatched paramedics and their fellow ambulance station colleagues through the life-saving world of a south London emergency service. Made for Sky by Bafta award-winning Roughcut TV (Stath Lets Flats, People Just Do Nothing, Cuckoo) Bloods will air on Sky One and NOW TV in 2021.
BAFTA-nominated Samson Kayo (Famalam, Timewasters) and Golden Globe-nominated Jane Horrocks (Absolutely Fabulous, Trollied, pictured) are to star in six-part comedy series Bloods as paramedic partners in the South London ambulance service. When tough-acting loner Maleek is paired with over-friendly divorcee Wendy, their partnership looks dead on arrival. But pretty soon they’re giving each other life support.
An updated statement has been issued regarding the origins of the spoof African dictator character fronting E4 TV pilot The Colonel Banjoko Show, to be played by Samson Kayo. Comedian Benjamin Bankole Bello has complained that he has been doing a similar-sounding character called President Obonjo on the stand-up circuit for a decade and has had considerable support from fellow comedians including Dane Baptiste and Kae Kurd.
BAFTA-nominated rising star Samson Kayo (Famalam, Timewasters, Sliced) is bringing a fictional African Dictator to E4 with a new pilot entitled The Colonel Banjoko Show.
Samson Kayo is on a roll at the moment. He has recently signed up for the Hollywood movie Mouse Guard with Idris Elba and Andy Serkis and now, after making a splash in Famalam and Timewasters he has his own sitcom on Dave, which finds the funny side of being young and skint in contemporary south London.
