Comedian Shappi Khorsandi has joined the line-up for this year's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!

She says: "I am dreading not being able to drink a cup of tea."

The other celebrities taking part are as follows.

Review: Shappi Khorsandi, Soho Theatre, W1

Shappi Khorsandi’s latest show, Because I'm Shappi, covers all bases, from frivolous to frank. There’s smutty material on porn, cuddly humour about single parenthood and, most distinctively, potent anecdotes about her father, an Iranian satirist living in exile.

Will there ever be any more Mighty Boosh? The door still seems to be open but whether Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding will ever enter the crazy Boosh world again together remains to be seen. In the meantime though Fielding is on his current solo tour, which is getting rave reviews and has already extended its run. It’s a combination of psychedelic sketches, nonsense characters, animations and more. Much it seems, like his recent Luxury Comedy series, which is no bad thing.

As the final week of 2013 turns into the first week of 2014 the comedy circuit rolls on. While comedians pepper Twitter and Facebook with memories of traumatic, riotous pre-Christmas gigs that they have conquered/survived, the brave ones still standing are now gearing up for their New Year's Eve bookings. There are plenty to choose from, all over London. Some run until midnight and the price includes a buffet. Some run late and include a post-gig disco.

Opinion: Free Comedy – Too Good to Be True?

I had an email from Islington's Angel Comedy Club earlier this week announcing their Comedy Extravaganza starting on September 30th. This is a week of gigs launching their new season. Sorry, I should have added, a week of FREE gigs. Among the acts appearing are Simon Munnery, Daniel Simonsen, Sara Pascoe, Arthur Smith, Aisling Bea, Jarred Christmas, Luke Toulson and Shappi Khorsandi*.

The London comedy circuit never sleeps but it does have the occasional disco nap in the middle of August. With almost everyone scarpering to Edinburgh big gigs are thin on the ground around town. There is always the Camden Fringe, but apart from that the main action is at the Soho Theatre and it comes in the shape of Sam Simmons.
