Sheen
So what's the verdict on actor Michael Sheen as new host of House of Games then? After one week are you saying "Richard Who?" or "Bring Back Richard Osman?" To me Sheen has slipped snugly into the role of question-master. Not too smug, not too nerdy, nice and friendly. And of coursxe we are seeing lots of Sheen at the moment, with him also appearing on Celebrity Traitors. It might be easy to forget that he is a brilliant actor, having played real-life people onscreen from Brian Clough to David Frost.
Busy times for Michael Sheen. He's currently on Celebrity Traitors (which of course was filmed yonks ago) and also this week he takes over from Richard Osman on House of Games. Which of course was also filmed a while back, so for all we known the star of Damned United and countless other classic TV shows and films might be sunning himself on the Maldives as I write.
Michael Sheen takes the helm on House of Games from Monday 5 October 2026. It marks the multi-award-winning actor’s debut as quiz show host, following in Richard Osman's footsteps. Below he talks about the handover and what it will be like stepping into those big shoes. Michael Sheen is also in the new series of Celebrity Traitors.
What was your first reaction when you were asked to host House of Games?
