I don't usually watch Sunday Brunch at the moment. The cheery bonhomie of presenters Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer can be a bit much on my day off. But according to the tweet posted yesterday comedian Stewart Lee is one of the guests so I will pop it on this week.

News: Stewart Lee Releases Single With The Nightingales

Stewart Lee has recorded a song which will be released along with a new song by one of his favourite bands, The Nightingales.

Lee recorded a cover version of the Nightingales song Use Your Loaf  with Nick Pynn for a mooted Nightingales tribute album. It now appears on the limited edition 7 inch single also featuring Ten Bob Each Way, which is a brand-new Nightingales recording, their first since recording their ‘Four Against Fate’ album.

TV: King Rocker: Sky Arts, By Stewart Lee/Michael Cumming

I wasn't sure whether I should be reviewing this. It's not a comedy after all, is it? It's just a documentary about obscure Midlands musician Robert Lloyd. But it's co-made by Stewart Lee and director Michael 'Brass Eye/Toast of London' Cumming so of course it's funny.

News: Asian Dub Foundation And Stewart Lee Make It To Number One

The Asian Dub Foundation song featuring Stewart Lee has made it to number one.

Before Christmas the band launched a campaign to make the track, Comin Over Here, the first number one on January 1st as soon as Brexit kicked in and it appears to have worked. Although Wham's Last Christmas topped some charts, the ADF song topped the official download charts. 

And in the official Top 40 chart show on Sunday January 3 they were number two, one place behind Ed Sheeran.

News: Campaign To Make Song Featuring Stewart Lee First Number One Of 2021

Music group Asian Dub Foundation have hatched a plan to make their single, Comin' Over Here, featuring a guest appearance from Stewart Lee,  the UK's first No.1 single 0f 2021 – the moment the reality of Brexit might really hit home.

They want fans to buy the track between 00.01 on 25/12 and 23.59 on 31/12 to count to the January 1st chart. Download link is here.

News: Stewart Lee Column Causes Controversy In Jewish Community

A column written by Stewart Lee and published in The Observer on Sunday has prompted members of the UK Jewish community to respond.

In the article, entitled "Now Boris Johnson is talking through his Tugendhat" Lee took issue with Tom Tugendhat, the Conservative MP for Tonbridge and Malling, who Lee said had tweeted about Boris Johnson's Sunday night broadcast/speech that it was a very clear message.

News: Stewart Lee March of the Lemmings Book Launch

Just going through some recent photos and found these shots of Stewart Lee's book launch for his latest collection of writings March of the Lemmings.

The launch/reading took place on the deck of Word on the Water, the floating bookshop moored on the Regent's Canal in Granary Square, near London's King's Cross last Sunday 15th September.

News: Stewart Lee Announces Free Book Launch On Barge

Stewart Lee is to become the first comedian to do a book launch on a barge. Lee will read from his new book MARCH OF THE LEMMINGS, from the deck of WORD ON THE WATER, the floating bookshop moored on the Regent's Canal in Granary Square, near London's King's Cross, on Sunday 15th September at 2pm.
