Toast of London
Toast of London is to return for a third series. It has been announced today that the C4 sitcom starring Matt Berry as hapless actor and voiceover merchant Steven Toast has been recommissioned.
Channel 4’s Comedy Head Phil Clarke paid tribute to the quirky comedy which started out as a one-off episode: "Channel 4 has always backed original comedy, the type of shows you wouldn't find anywhere else, and Toast of London represents a significant new chapter in that story, and in our comedy heritage."
Matt Berry, currently riding high with his sitcom Toast of London on C4, is to perform a one-off concert at The Forum, Kentish Town on Friday, 13 February, 2015.
Matt Berry’s C4 sitcom Toast of London has received six British Comedy Award nominations. The sitcom, co-written by Arthur Mathews, is nominated in the Best Sitcom, Best New Comedy and Best Comedy Moment categories, with three of its stars getting acting recognition.
Berry is also nominated for his roles in BBC sitcom House of Fools and his internet short Lone Wolf.
Matt Berry really could keep you hooked by reading the telephone directory. The owner of that distinctive syrupy, lubricious, posh James Mason bellow returns for the second series of Toast of London, in which he plays Steven Toast, a dodgy actor with a dodgy past still looking for that lucky break but making do, somewhat inevitably, with voiceovers. One day that big role may come. Yeah right, and a porker just flew past my window.
