Uncle
Comedian Nick Helm has confirmed that the second series of his sitcom Uncle will start on BBC3 next February and his own variety show Heavy Entertainment will start in March. He has tweeted the following: “For those interested... It looks like UNCLE 2 will be due in February closely followed by Heavy Entertainment in March.
Kayvan Novak is set to appear in a new mainstream sitcom alongside Bradley Walsh. Novak, who made his name in prank show Fonejacker, will co-star in Woody - a six-part, half-hour sitcom created by Neil Webster and Charlie Skelton.
It’s good to see Episodes back on the box again for a third series. Stephen Mangan is a terrific comic actor, Tamsin Greig is an all-time favourite and I even quite liked Matt LeBlanc in Friends.
When I heard the news that there was talk of BBC3 being axed to save the corporation £90 million per year my immediate thought was 'here we go again, more corporate codswallop like the thing about axing BBC6'. BBC3 has given us some great comedy over the years, from Little Britain and The Mighty Boosh to Nighty Night, Pulling and, most recently, Uncle. How could the BBC possible entertain even the slightest thought of turning off the channel.
