Leading UK theatre company Out of Joint has announced the line-up for Stockroom, a diverse collective of salaried writers charged creating work that is challenging, relevant and popular.  This ground-breaking new initiative aims to redefine the process of making theatre for the mid-scale by abandoning the traditional model of commissioning individual playwrights and replacing it with a semi-permanent group of creatives from a variety of artistic backgrounds to make collaborative new work for the company to produce. 

The award-winning comedian and musician Vikki Stone presents the London premiere of her debut orchestral work, Concerto for Comedian and Orchestra, at Kings Place on March 30.

In the performance the comedian takes the role of ‘soloist’ alongside the London Musical Theatre Orchestra conducted by Ben Glassberg. The concerto had its debut performance at Glastonbury Festival, and has also played the Latitude and Edinburgh Festivals.

Reg Hunter, Vikki Stone and Rayguns Looks Real Enough are among the comedy acts appearing at the three Rewind Festivals this summer.

You never quite know where a comedy career is going to take you. For classically trained Vikki Stone – previously best known for her comic songs about Brian Cox and Phillip Schofield – it has taken her to the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, where she has been part of the BBC presenting team. In her Prom podcasts she has interviewed the likes of Jamie Cullum, Quincy Jones, Daniel Barenboim and Sir Simon Rattle.
