Mike Bubbins will embark on his first ever solo stand up tour next year with brand new show Throwback. Opening in Maidenhead on 4th February he then heads to Cheltenham, Shrewsbury, Llanelli, Carmarthen, Leamington Spa, Northampton, Leicester, Portsmouth, Barry, Salford, Chorley, Nottingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Newport, Winchester, Birmingham, Treorchy, Rhyl, Milford Haven, Cardiff, Swindon and Port Talbot before concluding in London on 1st April.
It's a bit like Life on Mars but it's set in a Welsh school and instead of a hard-boiled detective thrown back in time it's an unreconstructed PE teacher with a good heart thrown forward.
Mike Bubbins, star of hit podcast The Socially Distant Sports Bar, and of BBC television comedies Mammoth, Tourist Trap and The Unexplainers is set to embark on his first ever solo UK stand-up tour, ‘THROWBACK’ in 2022. Kicking off in Northampton on 12 February, the tour will travel the length and breadth of the UK playing 34 dates before culminating in Barnsley on 8 April. Tickets are on sale at 10am on Friday 30 July from Ticketmaster.co.uk.
BBC Cymru Wales has unveiled a collection of new comedy programmes to be broadcast over the next eighteen months. The slate includes a new sketch comedy show that uses pioneering AI technology previously seen in global smash hit and Star Wars spinoff ‘The Mandalorian’ to be broadcast on BBC Wales later this year.
