Comedian and podcaster Adam Buxton has been trending on Twitter after Storm Eunice caused the Spire of St Thomas's Church in Wells, Somerset to come crashing to the ground. For many Buxton fans this echoed the scene in the movie Hot Fuzz in which his reporter character Tim Messenger is killed by a falling spire. Hot Fuzz was filmed in Wells.

HarperCollins Publishers has acquired World rights to comedian, writer and broadcaster Adam Buxton’s Ramble Book. Mudlark Publishing Director Jack Fogg negotiated the deal with Caroline Chignell at PBJ Management.

To coincide with its publication, Adam Buxton will talk about and read from his upcoming new book on a 23-date UK Tour in May and June 2020. The tour starts on Monday, May 11 at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall and currently ends at Bristol's Tobacco Factory on Friday, June 12.

There was a post on Twitter suggesting that fans stormed the film tent where the World Cup Final was overrunning to demand that they turned the telly off and let Adam Buxton come on. I was there and while the show was a little delayed I don't remember a riot. Maybe just a few polite enquiries. Buxton fans - or should that be nerd army? – are far too well-behaved to kick-off about a late kick-off.
