The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society has announced the launch of a new £7.5m fundraising campaign to help aid the long-term recovery of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
‘Save the Fringe’ will serve as a starting point for a wider Fringe revival, following the devastating impact of covid-19.
Fringe By The Sea, Scotland’s freshest festival which is held in North Berwick (6-15 August 2021), returns with live audiences being entertained in Covid-secure environments. The festival will be held throughout the town in several new venues such as the Belhaven Big Top, SSE Renewables Envirozone, Glenkinchie Lowland Stage and Marine North Berwick. A map with all the festival venues has been designed by Artist in Residence Eilidh Muldoon.
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society has announced the recipients of the first ever Fringe Artist and Venue Recovery Fund.
Fifteen different productions have been awarded funds to bring work to the world-renowned festival, with shows taking place in both 2021 and 2022.

More residents than ever before attended Fringe shows, with a record 856,541 tickets issued to audience members from the city
An initiative has been launched to encourage people involved in the comedy industry to pay for their tickets when they see shows at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Free Free, started by production company Blink Industries, asks everyone who works in the comedy world (apart from reviewers) to pay for tickets to shows at the Fringe if they are able to.
