Gilded Balloon has announced a major third wave of another 88 shows on sale for the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, bringing a dynamic mix of comedy, theatre, musicals, spoken word, cabaret and family shows to venues across the city.
 

This latest release builds on the already announced programme, with household names, Fringe favourites and new voices set to take to stages at Teviot, Patter House, Gilded Balloon at the Museum, The Gilded Saloon and The King’s Theatre.

After a successful inaugural run in 2024, Edinburgh Fringe venue Gilded Balloon has relaunched its Postcode Pals scheme, offering local residents discounted tickets for some of the Festival’s biggest and best shows. Over 125 shows will offer £6 tickets for residents across Edinburgh and the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk including Alana Jackson, Caroline Rhea, Jack Docherty in The Chief (pictured), Kim Blythe, Rosie O’Donnell and many more.

Gilded Balloon has unveiled a huge line-up of comedy stars to take part in a special ‘40 Years of Fringe’ in conversation series, to celebrate the venue’s 40th anniversary. Alana Jackson, Bill Bailey, Doon Mackichan, Fred MacAulay, Kim Blythe, Paul Black, Mhairi Black, Rosco McClelland and more will take part in the shows as the family-run venue marks four decades at the world’s biggest arts festival.

Gilded Balloon Puts Edinburgh Fringe Shows On Sale

The Fringe’s original home of comedy, Gilded Balloon, will take over a new venue this summer as it gets set to mark 40 years at the world’s biggest arts festival. Gilded Balloon will welcome audiences to three different venue hubs in August, right in the heart of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, including: Patter House, the National Museum of Scotland and new venue Appleton Tower, with the very first shows on sale now.

So You Think You're Funny? Final 2024 Results

Glaswegian Alana Jackson has been crowned the winner of the 37th edition of the iconic So You Think You’re Funny? - the UK’s most prestigious comedy newcomer competition. 

Ciara O’Connor and Ayo Adenekan came second and third place respectively, coming out top from an initial 597 applications and entertaining a sold out crowd at this year’s final at Patter House, hosted by former SYTYF? winner Maisie Adam.

Finalists And Judges Announced For So You Think You're Funny? Final

The UK’s leading comedy newcomer competition, So You Think You’re Funny? (SYTYF?) has revealed this year’s 10 finalists, plus confirmed comedian and TV star Sue Perkins will be 2024’s celebrity guest judge. Following months of regional showcases and competitive heats, a panel of judges decided this year’s finalists as Gilded Balloon once again get set to crown comedy’s next rising star.
