hugh bonneville
On the show tonight (7th October), Graham welcomes Paddington and Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville, Oscar-nominated star of stage and screen Lesley Manville, British actress Lashana Lynch, grime artist turned Bafta-winning TV chef Big Zuu, and Eurovision star Sam Ryder.
Hugh Bonneville, W1A scriptwriter John Morton and the BBC Concert Orchestra have teamed up for a short musical clip.
The musicians have recorded the W1A theme tune from their homes, with Ian Fletcher (Hugh bonneville) giving his commentary from his office (which is not so much an office, more a toilet...).
Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, W1A) is set to star as a mysterious one-eyed man in Gold’s brand-new comedy, Sandylands. The series is produced by King Bert Productions and is currently in production.
What can you tell us about your character and this series of W1A?
Ian Fletcher’s bedside reading is currently 'The Sinking of the Titanic and Other Psychological Conditions' and 'Optimism in a Post-Truth World'. So he is very much keeping a positive outlook while at the same time testing the emotional lifeboats.
Is life getting any easier for Ian?
The BBC press office must have been very pleased with itself when it came up with the idea of sending out invites to a screening of the new series of self-mocking satire W1A as if they had been sent out by the star of the comedy, Ian Fletcher.
The following email arrived earleir today 'from' Head of Values Ian Fletcher, who is played by Hugh Bonneville in the award-winning series:
Until the cameras roll it won't be known exactly what crisis will be averted or indeed where Ian's desk will be.
The second feature in our series on this year's Bafta nominees is a location report on the making of Twenty Twelve featuring interviews with co-stars Hugh Bonneville and Jessica Hynes first published in The Times last March.
