Taskmaster star Mawaan Rizwan will be flaunting his fishnets and bringing his unique style of comedy to the role of the Narrator in Richard O’Brien’s legendary rock ‘n’ roll musical the Rocky Horror Show. Mawaan will play the role for a limited two-week run on 6 – 20 September at London’s Dominion Theatre as part of a new nine-month UK tour. Tickets are on sale now from RockyHorror.co.uk.
Live comedy fans will know Mawaan Rizwan from his madcap music/comedy live shows which mixed rap and riffs about his life and family. TV comedy fans will know Rizwan from his, shall we say, unconventional approach on Taskmaster. Now Rizwan gets a chance to put everything he is nuttily good at together in his crazily wonderful debut sitcom Juice which he has written and stars in.
Juice is a surreal comedy that follows Jamma (Taskmaster star Mawaan Rizwan) on his quest for attention as he navigates chaotic family dynamics and literally stumbles through love.
Mum, Farida (Shahnaz Rizwan), always makes everything about her, Dad, Saif (Jeff Mirza), ignores him and brother, Isaac (Nabhaan Rizwan), steals the limelight at work – the one place Jamma feels like he’s doing well.
