Brits host Mo Gilligan had a dig at Prime Minister Boris Johnson between introducing acts and awards.
Gilligan said: "We all love a party....Speaking of parties, Boris, I know you're watching. I know you love a party. Come down my guy! I know you like a cheeseboard! Look at you with your Dairyleas."
South London-born comic Gilligan is hosting this year's Brits followng in the footsteps of most recent previous Brits host Jack Whitehall.
Channel 4 has ordered a third and fourth series of The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan, the entertainment chat show, co-produced by Expectation and Gilligan’s production company Momo G.
Mo Gilligan was awarded a BAFTA in the Entertainment Performance category in 2021 for the series and is instrumental in the creative direction of the show which will return to Channel 4 later this year.
The BRIT Awards with Mastercard will return for its 42nd show on Tuesday 8th February 2022, with Mo Gilligan confirmed as host and Clara Amfo and Maya Jama set to take on Presenting duties for ‘The BRITs Are Coming’ Nominations show and BRITs Red Carpet show.
The line-up has been revealed for The Black British Takeover, which comes to The O2 on December 8 and is hosted by Mo Gilligan.
Mo will be joined by Slim, Thanyia Moore, Babatúndé Aléshé, Eddie Kadi and The Compozerz for a diverse evening of comedy and entertainment.

Since The Lateish Show’s debut in July 2019, you’ve won BAFTA and RTS Awards, joined the judging panel on The Masked Singer and Dancer, written a book, presented a series from home, fronted a documentary, announced your There’s Mo To Life tour, filmed Celebrity Gogglebox with Babatundé Aléshé and we’ve been through a pandemic. So not busy at all then?
The second series of the Bafta-winning The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan will include production roles that have been created to accelerate the careers of talented individuals within the industry from underrepresented groups.
Expectation and Channel 4 are backing the initiative and co-funding the paid and credited roles within the current production of the Expectation and Momo G produced show.
Mo Gilligan is set to play the 02 Arena on December 8th. It’s set to be the biggest show of Mo’s career to date, and he’ll be bringing headline stars from the Black British circuit with him. The line up will be announced monthly in the lead up to what is set to be one of the most legendary events in British stand-up history. The O2 event is part of The O2’s Welcome Back Shows and will also be filmed for broadcast.

UK stand-up star Mo Gilligan is to play a run of dates at the 02 Forum in Kentish Town.
He will be hosting Mo Gilligan and Friends on Friday nights this autumn.
The dates announced so far are every Friday from November 6 to December 11.
