Peep Show
Channel 4 Comedy has commissioned ‘Dead Pixels’, a brand new part-live action, part-computer animation series for E4. Based on his 2016 Channel 4 Blap, ‘Avatards’ (pictured), it will be written by BAFTA award-winning writer Jon Brown (Loaded, Fresh Meat, Veep) and will be Executive Produced by Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong (Fresh Meat, Peep Show).
Peep Show may be no more, but Superhans lives on.
The serial hedonist is all set to tour this summer. Matt King, the comedian who plays the character tweeted: "So I'm gonna be DJing as Superhans this summer. Watch out for me at festivals, Ibiza, small pubs. Choonz & jokes innit."
This is good news. In the last episode of Peep Show, which aired on C4 at the end of 2015, Superhans had said that he planned to head to Macedonia to set up a moped rental business.
And so this is it. After 12 years can it really be the end for Jeremy and Mark? Are these two dysfunctional man-children actually going to sail off into the sunset after letting us hear their unedited internal monologues for one last series?
Well that probably seems to be the case, in which case it looks like they are going out in style. The first episode of series nine sustains the standard that we have been used to. And, as a bonus, it also features Tim Key.
Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong have carved out a pretty nifty niche for themselves as C4's top-notch comedy writers with Peep Show and Fresh Meat. In case you've been living under a stone without access to the internet for the last week their latest project for the channel is a bit of a departure. Babylon, directed by Danny Boyle, is a one-off feature-length comedy-drama following a day in the life of a cross-section of London cops.
