Two new specials hosted by Lucy Porter and Ian Smith will be part of BBC Radio 4’s Friday Night Comedy schedule across July and August.
Julia McKenzie, Comedy Commissioner for BBC Radio 4, says: “We’re thrilled to have two Radio 4 favourites bringing their comedy specials to our Friday Night Comedy slot over the summer.
Comedian Lucy Porter is to host a new history-based quiz on BBC Radio 4.
Déjà News will turn the BBC’s vast news archive into a test of contestants’ abilities to identify moments from broadcasting history. Listeners will hear clips from across the past hundred years and guess the stories and events behind them.
Lucy Porter is back on the road from 6th February, 2026 to November 2026 with her eighteenth solo show, Let Yourself Go - an hour of stand-up exploring what it means to age, evolve, and loosen your grip on everything from self-image to social expectations. The show will tour the UK including dates in Leeds, London, Cambridge and Sheffield.
