Rhys Nicholson
Winner of Most Outstanding Show at Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2022 and winner of Best Show at Sydney Comedy Festival 2022 Rhys Nicholson is set to embark on their debut UK tour with critically-acclaimed show ‘Rhys, Rhys, Rhys.’ Following the success of a sold-out run at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the
Melbourne comedian Rhys Nicholson's debut Netflix special, Live at the Athenaeum, lands tonight (Sunday) at 7pm GMT.
The 90-minute show was recorded at the titular Melbourne venue in November last year, expanding on Nicholson’s touring show Nice People, Nice Things, Nice Situations.
The film was produced by Nicholson’s partner and former triple j presenter Kyran Wheatley.
Rhys Nicholson is super sharp. As sharp as his perfectly pressed suit, his elegantly arched scarlet quiff and his perfectly filed golden fingernails.
He’s a stand up who is unashamedly himself, queer, arch, bristling with attitude and acutely self-aware.
It’s Saturday night in Edinburgh and some of the crowd are being a bit chatty, a bit random and a bit late – but it doesn’t put Nicholson off his stride for a second.
If Rhys Nicholson's mum reads this she might be in for a surprise when she gets to question six. Contrary to what Mrs Nicholson thinks, her little boy is one of Australia’s top comics.
