Major newe venue Blackstock Market has opened to the public with more than 2,000 people flocking to the multi-million-pound Liverpool venue on its first day.
The eagerly anticipated £7million entertainment destination was officially launched this week, with events including a sold out evening from Hot Water Comedy Club, led by superstar resident compere Paul Smith.
The Hot Water Comedy Club in Liverpool is withdrawing from a pilot programme to trial rapid Covid testing at entertainment venues. It says it is pulling out of all such programmes because of confused Government messaging and misleading media articles that have resulted in a hate campaign against the club.
The Hot Water Comedy Club is to stage a live try-out stand-up gig with an audience as lockdown measures start to ease.
The Liverpool-based club will be putting on the gig on April 16 at the The Auditorium, M&S Bank Arena, Kings Dock, L3 4FP. It will feature Paul Smith, Adam Rowe, Jamie Sutherland and Mick Ferry.
Comedians and comedy clubs have been devastated by the news on Friday that indoor performances at comedy clubs cannot return from Saturday, August 1 as was announced two weeks ago. In a statement by PM Boris Johnson today a decision will now be taken in two weeks about loosening the lockdown guidelines.

The club started off from humble beginnings in Liverpool back in 2010. Since then they have conquered the region, with two purpose build comedy clubs in the city regularly selling out seven nights a week. Such is the magnitude of their success that they even promoted a nationwide sell out tour for their resident compere, Paul Smith.
