The final has taken place of this year's Komedia New Comedy Awards in association with Comic Boom comedy club and arts journalist Victoria Nangle. Ten acts competed in a closely fought laugh-off at Brighton's Komedia Club, each doing a short set in front of the judges (including me).

The Komedia New Comedy Awards, in association with the award-winning Comic Boom comedy club and Arts Journalist Victoria Nangle, is open for entries for 2025, championing rising original comedic voices for its fourth year. Online entry launches on 16th September 2024, with the semi-finals and final taking place in January and February 2025. 

The Komedia New Comedy Awards in association with Comic Boom comedy club and Victoria Nangle have been going for four years now and at last I made it down to Brighton for the final. Comedy competitions can often be long affairs with producers having big line-ups so that all the acts' mates buy tickets and fill the venue. No such problem at Komedia where nine acts, ably compered by Barry Ferns, played to a full room of what seemed like a non-partisan but very up-for-it crowd.

Komedia is pleased to announce that the Komedia New Comedy Award, in association with Comic Boom comedy club and arts journalist Victoria Nangle, will soon be open for entries for 2024. Online entry launches on 9th October 2024, with the semi-finals and Final taking place in January and February 2024.
