Comedian Tom Towelling has won this year's Sean Lock Comedy Award at a final at St George’s Hall in this year’s City of Culture, Bradford, hosted by Edinburgh Comedy Award winning comedian Amy Gledhill.
The Sean Lock Comedy Award was established in memory of the much-loved comedian and showcases performers who exemplify Sean’s distinctive comedic spirit and Channel 4’s commitment to boundary-pushing comedy.
Satirical comedy series C*A*U*G*H*T follows four Australian soldiers sent on a secret mission to a war-torn country. Mistaken for Americans, they are captured by freedom fighters and produce a hostage video that goes viral.
When the soldiers reach celebrity status, they realise that being caught might just be the best thing that could’ve happened to them.
Following a run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2022 and a tour across the UK and Europe, Sean McLoughlin’s acclaimed stand-up hour ‘So Be It’ is set to be released as a special on 23rd June 2023. Produced and distributed by 800 Pound Gorilla Media, the special will be available to watch on their website, followed by a wider release on YouTube and other on demand platforms from 27th July.
