Dapper Laughs
Daniel O’Reilly announces ‘Out Of Character’, a brand new stand-up comedy show ten years after the controversial on-stage joke which cost him his ITV2 series as Dapper Laughs.
Daniel O’Reilly, formerly known as controversial stand-up Dapper Laughs, is to make his West End debut in a lead role in the new show Time at the Tristan Bates Theatre from 10th-15th February. He has also written a play, Dying To Be Funny, about his personal journey and struggles with mental health.
Controversial comedian Dapper Laughs has been voted out of the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Laughs, real name Daniel O'Reilly, left the house and then got all emotional as he proposed to his girlfriend live on television.
After he was one of the people booted out of the Channel Five gaff during a triple eviction he was joined by his girlfriend Shelley Rae on the sofa where he got down on his knee and produced a ring made out of paper from his pocket.
Controversial comedian Dapper Laughs is reported to be due to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house this weekend.
The latest run of the reality TV show, that started earlier this week on 5, is different because it started with an all-female house.
Controversial comedian Dapper Laughs, aka Daniel O'Reilly, has spoken to online magazine Spiked about his views on modern comedy. In an in-depth interview he defends himself against accusations of sexism and blames the outrage over him on society becoming too politically correct.
"People say I’m bringing it back to the dark ages, back to Chubby Brown.
Controversial comedian Daniel O'Reilly, aka Dapper Laughs, has filmed his live show for DVD release later this year.
The gig was at the Clapham Grand in South London on Friday night and billed as the Res'Erection. This is the comedian's latest attempt to revive the character he seemed to have killed off late last year following accusations of sexism and misogyny.
Dapper Laughs has released a sitcom pilot online. The four-minute film is his latest attempt to bring back the character that came under such fierce media scrutiny in 2014 that at one point he appeared on Newsnight and said that "It was great at the beginning, but it has completely ruined everything for me as a comedian."
As comedy goes it could not have been more meta if Stewart Lee had made a cameo appearance. Just when we thought we’d seen the last of him Dapper Laughs released a new video on YouTube on Christmas Day in which he returned to earth from a buxom wench-filled heaven and put his creator, Daniel O’Reilly in his place for attempting to kill him off by donning an existentialist’s black polo neck and appearing on Newsnight.
In his first major TV appearance since the announcement that there will not be a second series of Dapper Laughs On The Pull Daniel O'Reilly, the man behind Dapper Laughs, has told BBC2's Newsnight that "Dapper Laughs Is Gone". In an interview with Emily Maitlis O'Reilly attempted to distance himself and draw a line under the controversial character that has been accused of misogyny, sexism and condoning rape.
ITV2 will not be making a second series of the Dapper Laughs series, On The Pull. The following statement was issued this evening: "We have given careful thought to the recent criticism of the character Dapper Laughs, which has focused on his activities outside of the ITV2 programme. We have taken the decision that we will not be considering this show for a second series."
