Channel 4 has announced the commission of Big Age, a new comedy pilot written by acclaimed writer Bolu Babalola (Love in Colour) and produced by Tiger Aspect (Man Like Mobeen, Hitmen). The vivacious show will air as part of Channel 4’s Black to Front day on Friday 10 September 2021
Jon Petrie has been appointed as the BBC's new Director of Comedy. Petrie will lead the UK’s largest generator of original scripted comedy responsible for multi-awarding winning comedies and audience hits including The Young Offenders, Inside No. 9, This Country, Ghosts, Man Like Mobeen, Motherland and In My Skin.

Comedy Central UK has announced a deal which sees podcast platform Acast become its distribution and monetisation partner for a new podcast series based on its smash hit, online short-form series, Dragony Aunts. Dragony Aunts The Podcast will be hosted by original drag queen stars of the digital series, Crystal Rasmussen and Candy Warhol.
2Northdown has launched its third New Act Competition, kicking off in January 2021. Leo Reich won last year. Other 2020 finalists included runner up Erika Ehler, Bella Hull, William Stone and Pope Lonergan.
