David Tennant, Zoe Ball, Paddy McGuinness, AJ Odudu and Joel Dommett host another night of fabulous TV all in aid of Comic Relief. Tune into BBC One or BBC iPlayer tonight (17th March) for a night full of fun and laughs. Here is a roundup of everything you can expect from tonight’s show.
Musical Performances
£42.7m has been raised in Comic Relief's Red Nose Day BBC broadcast.
Founder Richard Curtis said that more money may come too from schools and when a compilation programme is broadcast on Sunday.
Comic Relief has announced how much money was raised by their The Big Night In Appeal in April.
The night, which was broadcast on the BBC, included special performances from Little Britain, Miranda Hart, Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon, Jason Manford, Nish Kumar, Jack Whitehall, Joe Wickes, Romesh Ranganathan, Catherine Tate and David Tennant and Peter Kay.
Comic Relief is to the launch of the Comic Relief Comedy Club, a monthly mixed-bill comedy night to be held on the third Tuesday of every month (except December) at The Albany in Fitzrovia (240 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 5QU).
Comic Relief has confirmed that ONE RED NOSE DAY AND A WEDDING will premiere exclusively during Red Nose Day 2019 on BBC One on Friday, 15th March. Watch a teaser trailer below.
The short film was made with the full support from Four Weddings and a Funeral rights holder Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios Inc (MGM).
Four sketches will take a knowing sideswipe at modern charity fundraising using Comedy Central UK’s ‘Modern Horror Stories’ format, in an effort to encourage a new generation of fundraisers to get involved.
The mini-series will see a weekly video released covering topics such as office ‘fashion week’ fancy dress, leg waxing, moustache growing and the horror of being asked to sponsor someone, all with a ‘Modern Horror Stories’ twist.
Comedian Garrett Millerick makes an appeal in conjunction with Comic Relief on behalf of those having a hard time on the Fringe.
I can relate to this only too well.

Ofcom has confirmed that it will not be investigating complaints from viewers about this year's Comic Relief.

Vue cinemas is to screen two new episodes from the second series of Peter Kay's Car Share on over 250 cinema screens in aid of Comic Relief, alongside an exclusive Q&A with Peter Kay and Sian Gibson answering questions put to them by the public.
The screenings will take place on March 31 at 7.45pm.
I was unable to watch most of Comic Relief last night due to a family bereavement. What I did see though only added to my grief. I don’t know if this was officially the worst Comic Relief night in recent memory but according to this article here which has some similar criticisms, the £71 million raised is the lowest total on the night in a decade.
