nish kumar
Comedy Central UK has commissioned a second series of comedic factual series Joel and Nish vs the World following the success of the first series starring Joel Dommett and Nish Kumar, which was acquired from BBC Worldwide.
Piers Morgan has incurred the wrath of a number of comedians following his provocative tweet about Nish Kumar earlier today.
Comedian Nish Kumar is to join the panel on Question Time.
He will be on the first show in 2018 which will come from Islington in north London. Joining him on the panel will be Piers Morgan.
This will be his first appearance on the programme but in recent years he has made a name for himself as a comedic political pundit, hosting both Newsjack on the radio and then The Mash Report on BBC2 this summer.
Very nice work if you can get it. For Nish Kumar anyway. For Joel Dommett it is more painful.
In this new globetrotting series Joel Dommett and Nish Kumar travel the world visiting some of the toughest people on the planet to see if they can do what the locals do. Well, at least fitness obsessive Dommett does. Most of the time, judging from this first episode, Kumar stands around with his hands in his pockets laughing and/or offering a sarcastic commentary.
The new BBC2 satire show The Mash Report is due to start later this month on July 20.
Comedian Nish Kumar will front this topical news show that will keep audiences informed on everything that has happened – or not happened – that week. All with help from the writers from website The Daily Mash.
Comedy club Laugh Out London's season of Edinburgh Fringe previews runs from July 17 - 24.
The line-up includes Edinburgh Comedy Award winners (a total of 14 nominations between them all), telly regulars and rising stars. Among the acts doing work-in-progress shows at the Old Queens Head pub at 44 Essex Road in Islington are Tim Key, Sara Pascoe, Richard Herring, Nick Helm, Nish Kumar, Tom Parry, John Kearns, Mae Martin and Jayde Adams.
The five contestants have been announced for the fifth series of Taskmaster.
They are Nish Kumar, Sally Phillips, Bob Mortimer, Aisling Bea and Mark Watson.
Meanwhile Noel Fielding has been crowned champion of Taskmaster Series 4, due in part to thwacking a Babybel a remarkable distance with a snooker cue.
The fifth series will air later this year on Dave, overseen as ever by Greg Davies and Alex Horne.
Comedy Central UK has acquired Rumpus Media’s Joel and Nish vs the World. It will air later this year on the channel.
The six-part series follows comedians Joel Dommett and Nish Kumar as they meet some of the fittest people in the world. Dommett takes on various physical challenges while Kumar explores their lifestyles.
The series is distributed by BBC Worldwide and is being sold around the world - in territories outside the UK it will be known as Tribal Bootcamp.
Hosted by Nish Kumar, The Mash Report is an up to the minute, satirical news show working with comedy website The Daily Mash.
Every now and again I receive Facebook comments from circuit comedians telling me that I spend all my time swanning in and out of the Soho Theatre and the Eventim Apollo and don’t experience what it is like at the pub-based comedy club grass roots level. Well last night I did go to a comedy club in a pub, but to be perfectly honest the acts were so good and the atmosphere so conducive to comedy that I suspect I still don’t know what it is like at the coal face. Good sight lines, good air-conditioning, good audience, good acts.
