Peter Kay's Car Share
The BAFTA-winning Car Share returns to BBC One for one last time as Peter Kay and Sian Gibson reprise their roles as John Redmond and Kayleigh Kitson. Forced to commute together in a supermarket car share scheme as they drive to and from work to the sounds of fictional radio station Forever FM.
Peter Kay is not known for pushing artistic boundaries, so it was certainly interesting to see an improvised episode of his hit sitcom Car Share. Whether it worked, however, was another matter.
Even the scripted episodes have a loose feel, with large chunks of each instalment often consisting of John (Kay) and Kayleigh (Sian Gibson) shooting the breeze as they travel to and from work. But the exchanges have presumably been worked on and honed and only the best bits left in.
The BAFTA award winning Car Share returns to BBC One with a special improvised episode. Car Share Unscripted will feature Peter and Sian ad-libbing as John and Kayleigh. The entire show follows them home on their daily commute and features what was filmed whilst driving around with no script.
Fans who were lucky enough to get tickets for the charity screenings of the finale of Peter Kay's Car Share have been singing the show's praises.
The audience at the Blackpool Opera House on Friday night was asked to keep the outcome of whether John (Peter Kay) and Kayleigh (Sian Gibson) finally get together secret but it has been revealed that a famous pop group appears in the episode.
It has been confirmed that the final episodes of Peter Kay's Car Share will be broadcast on BBC One in May. The first of two episodes will air on May 7.
As exclusively reported earlier Beyond The Joke had heard rumours that this would be when the two episodes would go out but it has now been officially confirmed.
Update: Second screening now added on April 6.
A charity screening of the new Peter Kay’s Car Share episodes will be held at Blackpool Opera House on Saturday 7th April.
Peter Kay's Car Share was the big comedy Winner at the National Television Awards. It won the Best Comedy category beating nominees Benidorm, Still Open All Hours and The Big Bang Theory.

Hit comedy Peter Kay's Car Share has bagged another award.
The BBC sitcom picked up the prize for TV Choice's Best Comedy at the TV Choice Awards.

I’m afraid I cracked. I’d seen so many references on social media to the final episode of Car Share from people who had watched it on iPlayer I couldn’t handle the tension any longer. I had to watch it.
It’s not often that Peter Kay is upstaged. Even rarer that he is upstaged by a monkey, but that’s the best bit by far in the third of only four episodes in this current series. It would be unfair to go into much detail for old school BBC1-only viewers who haven’t seen the episode on iPlayer yet but needless to say, the old actor-y warning of never working with animals is spot on here.
