Twenty years ago I ran into Simon Munnery as he was coming out of St Leonard’s police station, the morning after he was arrested on Arthur Smith’s traditional 2AM walking tour of the Royal Mile.
Munnery was looking pale and very ill, and according to my memory was dressed in lederhosen.

The exhibition, at the Ex-Baldessarre Gallery in Bedford, will include paintings, props, jokes, videos and archive material spanning 35 years of stand-up comedy. Independent label Go Faster Stripe is staging its first-ever comedy festival.
Nine comedy shows will take place at the Go Faster Festival at the Bloomsbury Theatre Studio over the weekend of November 7 & 8. The shows will be filmed for future DVD release by the Cardifff-based label.
