Taskmaster
Channel 4 has confirmed when their first series of hit game show Taskmaster will be starting.
The first Channel 4 series will air this autumn. Nine previous series have aired on Dave.
Some more details have been revealed, suggesting that the show will basically stick to the same format and will feature the same hosts.
The UK version of Taskmaster is to make its debut on American TV this summer.
There has already been an American version fronted by Reggie Watts but this will be reruns of the original version of the International Emmy and triple BAFTA nominated comedy game show. It stars comedian and actor Greg Davies in the title role of the all-powerful Taskmaster, who issues simple comedic and bizarre tasks to five regular contestants – usually comedians – with Alex Horne (the show's creator) acting as the Taskmaster’s assistant.
The winner of the latest series of Taskmaster has been crowned.
The competitors in this latest series on Dave were David Baddiel, Ed Gamble, Jo Brand, Katy Wix and Rose Matafeo.
And the winner is...Ed Gamble, who is pictured here with fellow competitor Rose Matafeo hiding behind his trophy.

It was only a matter of time, and now following the launch of the 9th series of Taskmaster, the hit TV show featuring host Greg Davies as the Taskmaster and his assistant and show creator Alex Horne, Taskmaster The Board Game from Ginger Fox arrives in stores this month.
Following Sweden’s version of Taskmaster, ‘Bäst i Test!’ (“Best in Test!”) winning Programme of the Year at the Kristallen 2019 (Sweden’s TV Academy Awards) more countries are creating local versions of Alex Horne’s comedy game show. Finland’s MTV and Discovery in Norway have picked up the rights from Avalon, adding to Taskmaster’s growing presence in the Nordic region with Denmark continuing production on its third series with TV2, and Sweden producing its fourth series of the award-winning show for SVT 1.
I've got a terrible confession to make. I think I started to fall a bit out of love with Taskmaster during recent series. It seemed to be on television so often that it sort of felt less and less like essential viewing. I hate to admit it but with their endlessly silly games Greg Davies and Alex Horne had become too much of a good thing.

This season’s hopefuls are David Baddiel, Ed Gamble, Jo Brand, Katy Wix and Rose Matafeo. Read an interview with Davies and his trusty sidekick Alex Horne below.
