Vic Reeves
Update 11/2/14: I did wonder what Peter Gabriel would make of The Life Of Rock with Brian Pern. Despite a plethora of gags at his expense it appears that he liked it (if this is genuine). Read his response here.
Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer return to our screens on Jan 14 with their new sitcom House of Fools. Read a preview of the programme here. BTJ spoke to Bob Mortimer about the programme, which co-stars Matt Berry, Dan Skinner, Daniel Simonsen and Morgana Robinson. It is very childish, very odd and very funny indeed.
Update 18/3/14: Throw your hats in the air and dance a jig. A second series of House of Fools has been commissioned by the BBC.
Update 7/6/14 - There's a chance to see the Tunnel Club film on June 17 as part of the East End Film Festival, alongside live appearances from Kevin Eldon, Simon Munnery and Richard Peppiatt. Details here.
I interviewed Michael Smiley last week. If you don't know the name you will certainly know the face. And if you don't that's him on the left. This year Smiley has appeared in straight acting roles in, among other things, Luther, Utopia, Ambassadors and A Field In England. Comedy fans with longer memories will, of course, know him as Tyres, the raving cycle courier in Spaced.

John Fisher's update of his stylish and weighty tome complete with riveting rare pictures draws numerous intriguing comparisons between comedians today and the comedians of yesteryear he first focussed on.
