Zoe Lyons
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins continus on Sunday 1 October at 9pm on Channel 4.
Comedian Zoe Lyons and ex-Minister Matt Hancock are among the 16 names taking part in the fifth series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. Across an epic SEVEN one-hour episodes, these famous faces will abandon their glamourous lifestyles as they attempt to survive the most unforgiving jungle in the world, in Thung Ui, North Vietnam.
No allowances or exceptions will be made for this group, who will be tested to their mental and physical limits, through a series of brutal tasks and interrogations.
This week's run of House of Games is actually a repeat. It first went out almost exactly a year ago. So if you've got a very good memory and your friends don't read this article (obviously the latter is very unlikely) you can impress them by reeling off the answers to Richard Osman's quirky questions.
Unusually, all four contestants come from the world of laughter.
Spare a thought for Mock The Week. The very final new edition of the show goes out on Friday night but was recorded the night before Liz Truss resigned.
The line-up for the last show is Alasdair Beckett-King, Angela Barnes, Hugh Dennis, Dara O'Briain, Rhys James, Ahir Shah, Zoe Lyons.
As Angela Barnes tweeted: "Liz Truss has done some terrible things, but resigning the day after we record the last ever episode of Mock The Week is up there"
Comedian Zoe Lyons has announced an extensive UK tour for 2023. The ‘Bald Ambition Tour’ takes in 39 dates and starts on Thursday 2nd February at Edinburgh’s The Stand and culminates on Sunday 30th April at Plymouth’s Quad Theatre.
Zoe Lyons has revealed that her quiz show Lightning will not be returning to BBC Two.
She posted the news on Instagram along with a picture of the shiny suit she wears in the show.
Brighton-based comedian Zoe Lyons is back to present a new series of the quiz show Lightning.
Lyons has recently opened up about her hair loss. She wears a "TV wig" when she appears on screen. Before then she appeared on Have o Got News For You? in a beanie hat.
She told the Mirror: "I’ve quite enjoyed the cliche of being a game-show host in my shiny suit, having my bald patches painted in by a make-up artist.”
For those who were wondering if Zoe Lyons has been wearing a wig on recent TV appearances on shows such as Live at the Apollo and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, Lyons has previously explained the situation. The spiky stand-up has stress-related alopecia and at the moment her hair is much thinner than normal so she is wearing a wig.
I don't know why but in my head QI is the poor relation of Would I Lie to You? and Have I Got New For You. Or maybe a more appropriate description is that QI is the older, brainier, sibling, even though chronologically Have I Got News is actually the oldest.
Anyway, enough of that, this panel show is consistently funny as well as enlightening. When Stephen Fry quit the quizmaster's chair the doommongers suggested it might fizzle out, but it is still going strong with Sandi Toksvig at the helm.
Comic Zoe Lyons is to front a new competition to help new comedians who have struggled during the pandemic.
Craft beer brand Fourpure has launched Stand Up For Beer, a virtual comedy competition alongside comic and TV regular Lyons. The Bermondsey Brewery is offering a platform to up-and-coming comedic talent to get their voices heard and to guarantee them stand up gigs later in 2021.
