Chatter about Richard Osman's House of Games has been dominated over the last week by the bombshell that Richard Osman is leaving the show. As much as I imagine he loves hosting this show and seeing his face on wheelie suitcase prizes I guess he's got plenty on his plate what with novels, his Rest is Entertainment podcast and various other irons in the creative fire. Of course, he'll always have a soft spot for House of Games – his future wife, Ingrid Oliver, was a contestant on the show.
Richard Osman is to leave top rating celebrity quiz House of Games. He made the shock announcement during his latest podcast episode with Marina Hyde, The Rest Is Entertainment.
Richard Osman's House of Games this week features Nadia Jae, Tamzin Outhwaite and from two different generations of the comedy world, Nigel Planer and Steen Raskopoulos.
After some fun-packed festive shows Richard Osman is back with a new run of brain-busting puzzlers and a quartet of celebrities trying to win the worst prize in TV competitions - household items with Richard Osman's face on them. Up this week are Huge Davies, Amy Dowden, Humphrey Ker and Jamie-Lee O'Donnell.
I've really been enjoying this week's editions of Richard Osman's House of Games. The competitors battling it out for the naffest prizes in game show history since Bullseye's speedboats are Yinka Bokinni, Ellie Leach, Vicki Michelle and Peter Serafinowicz.
Every day this week, celebrity contestants Eniola Aluko, Phil Daniels, Nikita Kanda and Danny Miller take on a series of quiz rounds selected by the host, quiz legend Richard Osman.
So herer's a rare line-up indeed - one with no stand-up comedians. There's Quadrophenia star Phil Daniels, actor Danny Miller who plays Aaron Dingle in Emmerdale, football person Eniola Aluko and presenter Nikita Kanda.
Jim Howick, Matt Morsia, Rebecca Lucy Taylor and Susan Wokoma test their general knowledge skills for a special Xmas run of Richard Osman's Festive House of Games.
Jim Howick will be best known to discerning comedy fans as one of the team behind the award-winning spooky sitcom Ghosts. He is also one of the stars of the more traditional BBC family comedy Here We Go. He is also one of the guest stars in the Christmas Death in Paradise special this year alongside Marcus Brigstocke.
Danny John-Jules and Ignacio Lopez provide the comedy content on this week's shows alongside consumer campaigner from The One Show Nikki Fox and musical star Ruthie Henshall,
I've been so busy reading and watching and listening to other things that Richard Osman does – from books to podcasts to Pointless – that I didn't even spot that House of Games has returned for a brand new series. It's the kind of show that always finds a place for comedians in the line-up. Plenty of nice TV profile exposure and you don't even have to learn the foxtrot to be on it. In the first week of the new series last week stand-up Ahir Shah was a guest.
There are two more comedians on this week's Redemption Week, giving failed contestants the chance of a win at last.
Well, when I say two more I actually mean two Moorw - Glenn Moore and Thanyia Moore. They are up against Michael Buerk, gamous for the news report that triggered Bob Geldof to start Band Aid and Kate Humble, who will no doubt be humble-bragging if she is victorious.
